    Living From the Riches of Christ, Part One

    The term riches of Christ is a somewhat nebulous term.  It means different things to different people, and I have seen it explained in various ways.  Also, many people seem to think that we need to obtain those riches after being saved, that they are earned or worked for, which is not true.   And, the general concept is that the “riches of Christ”, whatever that is exactly, is personal.  They are for the benefit of the individual Christian.  That is only partially true.     Consequences

    Everything we do has consequences.  Most people think of the negative when someone speaks of the consequences of their actions, but consequences are good as well as bad.  My dictionary defines consequence as the nature of a secondary result. A consequence is simply the thing or things that naturally follow from something you do.  Most of the time we don’t consciously think of what will happen as a result of our doing, or not doing, an action.  Not doing something has a consequence or consequences as well.  Not sending a good friend a birthday card, or at least wishing the person a happy birthday, may lead the friend to believe…

    Knowing Jesus

    Christianity is not a religion.  It is a relationship between the individual Christian and Christ.  To have a relationship with Him you have to know Him.  It is the same as it is in this world.  We can’t have a relationship with someone we don’t know because there is no interaction, no communication between you and the other person.  And communication in a relationship is two way, not just one way:  Sending fan letters to a favorite rock star or movie actor is not a relationship because there is no return response from the person you write to.  A form letter from the publicity office saying thank you isn’t interaction. …
